The Benefits of Antioxidant-Rich Tea by Jason Lincoln Jeffers

Thomas Edison once said, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” In the early 20th century, Dr. Otto H. Warburg proved that all forms of cancer have two basic conditions: high acidity and oxygen deficiency. He believed that the root cause of cancer is oxygen deficiency because he discovered that cancer cells are anaerobic (do not breathe oxygen) and cannot survive in the presence of oxygen, as found in an alkaline state.

The Mystical Meaning of Life by David Almeida

We all have different belief systems, religions leanings, personal philosophies, and ways of explaining the mystery of life. Some people are determined to push their beliefs on others. A number of these individuals feel so strongly about the superiority and correctness of their beliefs, that they are willing to pay the ultimate price of death to defend them. We need to understand and respect that all beliefs have value to the person expressing them. This essay represents my current understanding and my truth. LOVE WITHIN BEYOND Regula Curti, Tina Turner, Dechen Shak-Dagsay, and Sawani Shende-Sathaye
A review by Barbara Bullock

Ever since the first Beyond CD release I have been one of the greatest admirers of the Beyond projects. Since the beginning I felt that these projects are really extraordinary and God sent into our world at this time. Divine timing is not always understood by us humble and sometimes impatient human beings, yet our mysterious universe knows exactly when the time is right. I feel that humanity has recently entered a new level of consciousness. More and more people around the world are opening up to the idea of the subconscious level.

How Important Are Your Beliefs? by David Almeida

Summary
Each person has beliefs about themselves and the world. Most of us have adopted our beliefs from people and organizations who are now or were at one time significant to us. Our beliefs are certainly important. This article reminds us that beliefs are not so critical that they should keep us from having meaningful relationships with those people whose beliefs and ideas are different from our own.

Debunking The Debunkers – An Important Message On Media By Paul A Philips

debunkFor numerous years humankind has been subjected to an endless barrage of lies, cover-ups and suppression; getting stymied down the disinformation dirt road of the dark ages… been bamboozled into silence, coerced in obedience like lame and docile dogs, while those having been enlightened knowing the truth have found their lonely voices in the wind blown into oblivion…

There continues to be a world domination agenda carried out by a handful of very wealthy families (‘The 13 families’): These dynasties have over many generations controlled religions, the banks, all major corporations, political parties, the mass media and education system…

Summary of Genetically Modified Foods by Ruby Deubry

Genetically modified (GM) foods aka transgenic or biodynamnic foods are foods that have been engineered in some way, generally through the insertion of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) – that is, organisms in which their genetic material has been artificially altered in order to possess some desirable trait [1, 2].

One of the most commonly used GMO is the bacterium, Rhizobium radiobacter (previously known as Agrobacterium tumefaciens). Other methods for introducing foreign genetic material into plants include the use of viruses, plasmids, and electroporation[3].

THOUGHTS ON: Happy Christmahanakwanzika

image

Every year prior to the holidays I am on the lookout for stories, articles, and social media posts concerning the ‘war on Christmas’ that many people claim is happening as well as the bellowing accusations of using ‘Happy Holidays’ over the more traditional ‘Merry Christmas.’ This also goes for the overt use of signs, messages and the occasional reminder of ‘Keeping Christ in Christmas’ (KCIC). Yet on the other isle we have those politically correct with a chip on their shoulder that can’t stand a Nativity scene on government property or those that don’t want another religions relics included along with baby Jesus. There’d be danger in the manger if a Hotei Happy Buddha statue and the Flying Spaghetti Monster were hanging in the crib with JC!

How Will History Remember You?

by Michael Snyder
(Originally Posted at The American Dream)

How are you going to spend your life?  When it is all said and done, how will history remember you?  Unfortunately, these days most people do not spend much time thinking about those kinds of questions.  Most people just kind of stumble through life without any clear direction or meaning.  Sadly, our society makes it far too easy to remain “comfortably numb” the vast majority of the time.  We are absolutely addicted to entertainment and there is more of it available today than ever before – television, movies, music, video games, sports events, food, gambling, shopping – the outlets for feeding our addictions are seemingly endless.  But do you really want to spend your life feeding your addictions and keeping yourself entertained as much as possible?  The following is a saying that has stayed with me my entire life: “Life is like a coin – you can spend it any way that you want, but you can only spend it once.”  If the fact that we are all hurtling through space on this giant rock is just some kind of cosmic accident and life really does not have any meaning, then yes it would make sense to fill up our lives with as much pleasure as possible before we die.  But if life really does have meaning and the things that we do today can have a permanent impact on the future, then perhaps many of us need to start thinking about what kind of legacy we are going to leave behind once we are gone. CD Review: Alcest – “Les Voyages De L’Ame” 2012 (Prophecy)

Genre: Post Black Metal/Shoegaze

Every now and then a CD comes along that beholds a sense of beauty, a vision of emotion, and a strong longing for greater thoughts to culminate and inspire one to create something within one’s own life and imagination. The first time I listened to Alcest’s “Les Voyages De L’Ame” CD all the way through I felt a need to work on the things that bring me joy and embrace the failures of the past and move past them. Yeah, you might say that’s hard to come by from a genre like Black Metal, where imagery of negative forces and hatred abound, but Alcest is more than heavy music, even so, only two or three out of the eight tracks are in that ‘heavy’ category. The rest of the music has a hauntingly, other world feel through out that leaves you wanting more from this band. At the moment the only band that comes to mind is Agalloch which had that haunting nihilistic feeling on their 2002 “The Mantle” CD, yet, Alcest’s music comes from the polar opposite with lyrics longing for the escape from this cold harsh world and the aspirations and loves of something more.

CD Review: Dean Evenson – “Relaxation Zone” 2012 (Soundings of the Planet)

GENRE: NEW AGE/AMBIENT
New Age musician and composer Dean Evenson takes his relaxation music in new directions in his newest release, Relaxation Zone. For this newest endevour Evnson puts down his flute, which has been a staple of his sound for well over 30 years and composes piano and keys for this album that still resonates with ambient healing and relaxing melodies. Music from start to finish, 64min run time with ten tracks, is very soothing, ambient, and lives up to the name of the CD, music that brings you to that stillness within, that relaxation zone where you find peace and love.

How You Can Become More Spiritual by Keith Ward

Spirituality has nothing to do with religion. However, many religions help you become more spiritual. If you choose a path of spirituality, you might not be a believer in any particular texts of the past but only hope to become a better person right now. While most religions refer to God or several Gods as existing in form elsewhere and watching over us, the spiritual person views God in everything and often doesn’t select a particular following but believes that all teachings that follow a path to goodness and righteousness can give the same benefit. The spiritual person worships from within his or her own heart.

Great Ways That Religion Can Benefit Your Health by Frank Constanza

By: Frank Costanza

There have been many claims and studies saying that religion benefit’s the health of a person. Before revealing what those benefits are, let us know first what religion is. According to Cicero, religion came from the word ‘relegare’ which means to go through again and read again. ‘Re’ means again while ‘legere’ means read. However, the modern writers and ancient writers linked the word religion to ‘religare’ which means to bind fast or unite. Taking it from the word origins, religion means binding oneself or meeting the ultimate creator, God.

A CULTIVATOR – Buddhist Hip-Hop

Bringing the Dharma to the Hip-Hop Community

In a world saturated with an abundance of musicians trying to make their mark in the music scene, whether it be in Rock, Metal, Country, Pop, Hip-Hop or whatever, few artists rise above with a positive message that brings peace and enlightenment as well as a realistic view of whats going on in the world around us, and even far less musicians bring about that message from a Buddhist viewpoint.

The Consciousness and Subconsciousness

Author: Enkeled Kanaj

The mind can be divided into two independent realms: the conscious and subconscious. The conscious and subconscious are two different spheres of activity within one mind. The conscious mind, or rational mind, is related to reasoning, logic, selectivity, comparison, analysis, learning and understanding. Our waking awareness is seated in the conscious mind, which uses the five physical senses to perceive the material world. The subconscious mind, as the name suggests, exists below the level of conscious awareness. The subconscious mind is the majority of the mind; the conscious mind, while the most evolved part of the brain, is only a very small portion of the total. The subconscious mind is extremely powerful, capable of processing many times more information than the rational mind. However, it is irrational, does not reason, and cannot differentiate between ideas such as good and evil, or positive and negative. The subconscious mind accepts whatever is impressed upon it. Phrased differently, the subconscious mind is habitual and behavioral.
