FILM REVIEW: “Inside Job” Documentary (2010)

REPOST: When it comes to banking and the economy I am pretty much an idiot. When the economic crisis happened back in 2008 as well as how it occurred, I was a bit clueless on what happened and how it happened. “Inside Job” is a well put together documentary going step by step in getting the layman, such as I, in understanding what happened with the Markets and how millions of people and billions of dollars virtually disappeared because of the actions of a few bankers and politicians.

“Today I embrace illusion to find truth”
What is truth? What is illusion? This documentary/film explores the question of what is real and what is fake in understanding what a spiritual master is. Some Religions Need Persecution

Yes….I’m mainly talking about Evangelical Christianity.

I’m not one who likes to poke and prod other peoples’ spiritual beliefs but when it concerns hatred towards others, Evangelical Christianity takes the cake, and in no way do I see it as spiritual. Yes, we can talk about the different levels of prosecution found in the majority of all world religions to various degrees but what I’m focusing on are those people within a particular denomination that do not embody the teaching of their own religious teachings….

So, yesterday the Department of the Army denied the approval of the easement in North Dakota ( 1 ). sacredSacred, yet to the applause of a lot of people that have been aware of this issue, this isn’t a victory, but a slight reminder that “this is the government and these are powerful oil and gas companies.”

Back in September, stemming from a federal judge declining the project (2). , Continue reading “#NODAPL 12/5/16 – IT WILL CONTINUE”

THOUGHTS ON: Happy Christmahanakwanzika

image

Every year prior to the holidays I am on the lookout for stories, articles, and social media posts concerning the ‘war on Christmas’ that many people claim is happening as well as the bellowing accusations of using ‘Happy Holidays’ over the more traditional ‘Merry Christmas.’ This also goes for the overt use of signs, messages and the occasional reminder of ‘Keeping Christ in Christmas’ (KCIC). Yet on the other isle we have those politically correct with a chip on their shoulder that can’t stand a Nativity scene on government property or those that don’t want another religions relics included along with baby Jesus. There’d be danger in the manger if a Hotei Happy Buddha statue and the Flying Spaghetti Monster were hanging in the crib with JC!

FILM REVIEW: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold (2011)

A very informative look behind, and in front, of what goes into product placement and brand marketing. Film director Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) brings together, from start to finish, a film that looks into advertisement and marketing where the movie itself is funded by sponsors advertising and marketing their brands. Morgan goes to various companies, documenting the whole way through, the process to get funding for their film and shows the hits and misses in his quest. Morgan talks from everyone in the industry, from advertisment agencies, psychoanalysts, lawyers, movie directors, musicians and others in showing how all have their part in bringing advertisement to the consumer.

THOUGHTS ON: May 21st, The End of the World, and Other Dates of Destruction

The day of Judgement has passed. All that believed are either questioning why it didn’t happened or are accepting it and moving forward. Some will believe that it is a testament of their faith in a higher power while other will feel cheated by something that they pray for and want. For the unbelievers, the majority shrugged it off as a mad-mans crazed prediction that came to pass with no hint of calamity, just as he did years prior. Others made them think and brought them closer to thinking deeper then they have though in a long time. Others, brushed it off as nothing, and went along with life as yet another day on planet earth. And I bet there were others, those that may be hearing about the end of the world scenario for the first time, questioning the hype, the fears, the silliness as well as the seriousness of it all.
