This past month has been a wake-up call to my soul. In part, coming to another crossroads in life. Music has always been the escape as well as the connection I need. Here is one artist that has help in recent days.
BURIAL PATH

Truth be told, this band has been an inspiration to me the last 48hrs, and I’ve only listen to one song on repeat! This is my first uploaded writing in months. At the bottom of the page is my first shot at making a YouTube Short that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile. A video that highlights the bands music, some lyrics I found of interest, and contact info for the band. This has lead to that.
I found their song title, The Luminary, abit intriguing so I clicked on and read their intro. After listening and watching the video to the song and reading the lyrics, which are included in the videos description section, I had to find out more about them.
“The Luminary is an exploration and interpretation of the unconscious mind’s processing of overwhelming fears in a dream state. Lyrically the song visits what it means to understand and make peace with what we cannot control….
I found singer, Aïcha Finnleikr’s post about their previous released track called “The Seeker” and while rereading her meaning about the song to my wife, I was overwhelmed with emotion on how much it resonated with me and I teared up.
“Lyrically, “The Seeker” is about my struggles with mental health throughout the past few years and the discomfort I felt while trying to manage the best way I knew how. It felt like the more I searched for a light in the dark, the further I went into darkness. Unaware that the seemingly healthy methods of coping were, in the long term, making things worse. After mentally hitting the absolute bottom, I had what I would consider to be, a true awakening. I became a “conscious seeker”. I understood that looking inward and healing from within was what it would take to change my reality.
Aïcha Finnleikr – singer for BURIAL PATH
The music video didn’t have the lyrics but I did find them on their BURIAL PATH BANDCAMP Page
The music of BURIAL PATH is heavy and brutal with exceptional melodic tones throughout. They fall under the genre of Post-Deathcore with Symphonic Deathcore influences. Vocals are deep and harsh, while the lyrics traverse the depths of being human and the follies it brings with it. Words that brings oneself to self-realization and deeper contemplating.
Seriously can’t wait to hear more from this band.
Below is an interview Aïcha did Sept. 1,’24 with Get Heavy UK where she touches on the start of the band, music that has influenced her in Deathcore music and harsh singing style. Aïcha goes indepth on the meaning behind the bands name as well as the personal struggles of life that lead her to seek out what lies within. She touches on mental health issues as well as the writing process her and the rest of the band had in creating “The Seeker.”
The 50min interview also goes into the logistics of being a band with the majority of the members based in Nebraska and Aïcha down in Texas and the future outlook of doing live gigs in 2025. GET HEAVY SPOTIFY INTERVIEW LINK
Another interview I found include a short one by FemMetal, where they promote women and feminism in Metal and Rock.

Thank you for taking time to reach deep and write this article. The article is well written, smooth transitions from topic to topic, and is a genuinely interesting read. We are super happy that the lyrical content has resonated with you so deeply! Aïcha put a lot of time and thought into the lyrics and we cannot express how good of a feeling it is to know it actually has had a deep impact on someone! Once again, thank you!
