Contemplation as a Methodology for Spiritual Connection

by Tami Brady – www.tami-brady.com

In this article, I am going to explore the methodology of contemplation as a means to explore personalize truth and spiritual bonding. As with any technique, it is important to remember that contemplation is a tool. Thus, undertaking contemplation will not automatically translate into a free ticket into Heaven or automatically transport you to Nirvana. Nor will reading this article cause you to suddenly realize your true potential with ultimate understanding of the universe. Contemplation is merely one method used by some individuals to gain insight into themselves, their beliefs, and into the workings of the universe. If this methodology suits your particular purposes, then use it. If not, modify the methodology or find another more suitable alternative. Quick Finds: Times of Grace – “Where The Spirit Leads Me” Video Metal/Metalcore

TIMES OF GRACE – “Where the Spirit Leads Me” Music Video – Metal/Metalcore
This band has been on my radar for a few months now. The singer,  Adam Dutkiewicz, was the original singer for Killswitch Engage and I knew I was going to fall in love with this band. The first time I heard KE I fell in love with the lyrics, which touched on spirtuality in one aspect or another. When I heard that he started TOG I immediately found this song and then the album. Music is in the Metal/Metalcore genre and the lyrics, which are below, are meaningful and powerful. If there ever was a praise and worship song for someone into Metal this is it. The song is off their debut “The Hymn of a Broken Man” which was released Jan 2011. They have been touring the past year and are making their way back throughout the US later this fall. I was speaking at a conference and it was lunchtime. I was sitting at a table of participants and we shared a lovely meal. The coffee was served and we were relaxing, I thought.

The woman next to me leaned in and whispered,

“I know coffee is not good for me and I don’t really drink coffee. I need a pick-me-up and just thought this was a special occasion.” She was almost apologetic. I whispered back and affirmed,

“You’re a coffee drinker.” She protested mightily.

“Oh, no, I’m really not!” I smiled and told her that indeed she was a coffee drinker as she was indeed drinking coffee! Continue reading “Your Behavior Is Your Belief”

THOUGHTS ON: May 21st, The End of the World, and Other Dates of Destruction

The day of Judgement has passed. All that believed are either questioning why it didn’t happened or are accepting it and moving forward. Some will believe that it is a testament of their faith in a higher power while other will feel cheated by something that they pray for and want. For the unbelievers, the majority shrugged it off as a mad-mans crazed prediction that came to pass with no hint of calamity, just as he did years prior. Others made them think and brought them closer to thinking deeper then they have though in a long time. Others, brushed it off as nothing, and went along with life as yet another day on planet earth. And I bet there were others, those that may be hearing about the end of the world scenario for the first time, questioning the hype, the fears, the silliness as well as the seriousness of it all.
