New Additions to Conscious Rock/Metal YouTube Playlist
Spotlight of a few bands that have been added to my list. This week includes STARSET, LOWEN, MACHIAVELLIAN GOD, & MOTHER OF MILLIONS
STARSET – “Brave New World” – This Alternative Rock band with hints of Metal has been around for some time now but just happened to cross my radar recently with their newest video. After watching a few other videos by them, I’ve become a fan. The videos that I have seen are all entertaining, as well as telling a story. Music ranges from Alternative Rock with Electronic elements here and there, as well as a Heavier Metal sound thrown in for good measures.
MOTHER OF MILLIONS – “Magna Mater” Progressive Rock/Metal band from Greece that have been together since 2008. Captivating and epic. Music video defects The Fates, who were sister Goddesses who spun the thread of life and death.
LOWEN – “Corruption On Earth” – Progressive Doom Metal band based in London, bridges the gap between the past and the present. A rich, textured feel of Middle Eastern esthetics, music, ancient instruments, and a powerfully haunting voice that makes this band unique.
MACHIAVELLIAN GOD – “The Burden of Existence” Melodic Death Metal from Romania that I became interested in just by the band name alone. Incorporating a wide range of influence, including Doom, Death, and Atmospheric music blends with both harsh and clear vocals. The lyrical content, just on this song alone, speaks volumes. They speak of life, the harsh reality of existing, the trials, and the sorrows yet seeking a light at the end of the path.
