Holy Crap It’s Been Over a Year

Well…as usual…never been consistent on posting on my own website and utilizing it like I need to!

So now it’s 2020 and we have COVID19 and things couldn’t be better! Ok, kidding. As with everyone else in the world, I’m just here coping with the reality at hand making the best of it.

Thankfully I’ve been working this whole time. Little has changed and have been flowing through these changes with relative ease. Yet one thing I’ve been missing is screen printing. I stopped doing it over a year ago and now I’m coming around to doing it again.

Will be working on what I enjoy doing. Will post pics, links and other stuff……eventually.

SPHOTA-MERAKI – 2019

SPHOTA: “That from which the meaning bursts forth”
In Hindu linguistics “sphota” relates to the theory and understanding of what words and phrases represent when someone reads them and relates them on a deeper level. It is the ‘light-bulb effect’, that ‘Ah-ha!’ moment of understanding aspects of words, sentences, mantras etc.

MERAKI: “The love one puts forth into something. The creative essence of putting yourself into your work”
In Greek, “merkati” represents the passion and soul one puts into their work.

Sphota-Meraki.com represents the drive and passion individuals feel in making change in their personal life as well as putting it forth out into the world. It is that moment of clarity before, during and after when one puts their whole essence into creating something anew.

This is that process….that moment of thought, turned into reality. The belief of doing what you love and how it enhances others in the process. Continue reading “SPHOTA-MERAKI – 2019”

Meaning behind SPHOTA:
The word sphota can be traced back to various Indian philosophers such as Pânini and Patanjali, but is most notable through Bhartrihari  (450—510 C.E.) and his theory associated with it in his writings, Vākyapadīya (treatise on words and sentences).

So, yesterday the Department of the Army denied the approval of the easement in North Dakota ( 1 ). sacredSacred, yet to the applause of a lot of people that have been aware of this issue, this isn’t a victory, but a slight reminder that “this is the government and these are powerful oil and gas companies.”

Back in September, stemming from a federal judge declining the project (2). , Continue reading “#NODAPL 12/5/16 – IT WILL CONTINUE”

The Art of Keith Prossick

Visionary artist Keith Prossick has been creating elaborate and beautiful works of art live at festivals and workshops for over ten years and now is looking to create a traveling gallery where art and storytelling are mixed to give the attendees an experience of ‘the visions that humans have created to help us understand who we are, where we came from, and where we want to go.’

RANT: Two documentaries on the hardships of the Australian Aboriginals

After watching two documentaries on the struggles of the Aboriginals of Australia I realize how upset I get over the struggles indigenous cultures have had throughout the ages. ‘Our Generation’ and ‘Utopia’ show the struggles Aborigines have and still have against the modern ‘civilised’ world in Australia. When I watch movies like Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman ‘Australia’ I see the hypocrisy in what the world sees as the ‘white Australia’ yet seeing these documentaries you see the arrogance and discrimination that is still going on.

THOUGHTS ON: Happy Christmahanakwanzika

image

Every year prior to the holidays I am on the lookout for stories, articles, and social media posts concerning the ‘war on Christmas’ that many people claim is happening as well as the bellowing accusations of using ‘Happy Holidays’ over the more traditional ‘Merry Christmas.’ This also goes for the overt use of signs, messages and the occasional reminder of ‘Keeping Christ in Christmas’ (KCIC). Yet on the other isle we have those politically correct with a chip on their shoulder that can’t stand a Nativity scene on government property or those that don’t want another religions relics included along with baby Jesus. There’d be danger in the manger if a Hotei Happy Buddha statue and the Flying Spaghetti Monster were hanging in the crib with JC!

FILM REVIEW: Kumare’ – Film/Documentary (2012)

poster“Today I embrace illusion to find truth”
What is truth? What is illusion? This documentary/film explores the question of what is real and what is fake in understanding what a spiritual master is. FILM REVIEW: “Inside Job” Documentary (2010)

insideWhen it comes to banking and the economy I am pretty much an idiot. When the economic crisis happened back in 2008 as well as how it occurred, I was a bit clueless on what happened and how it happened. “Inside Job” is a well put together documentary going step by step in getting the layman, such as I, in understanding what happened with the Markets and how millions of people and billions of dollars virtually disappeared because of the actions of a few bankers and politicians.

BOOK REVIEW:: Sri Gawn Tu Fahr – “Loves True Home”

Book Review: Sri Gawn Tu Fahr – “Loves True Home” (Xlibris)

Found a link from Sri Gawn Tu Fahr Facebook page that offered a link to “Love’s True Home” and decided to head on over and check it out. Since I’ve been in a bit of a funk about the direction of my reality I decided I needed to read up some inspirational quotes that at times are quirky and humorous but overall truthful and enlightening. I decided to take the advice from the introduction and flip through the pages and read the passages at random. Each of the 24 chapters range from Kindness, Letting Go, and Divine Love to Facebook and Twitter quotes, which I’ve been reading for a few months now.

THOUGHTS ON: May 21st, The End of the World, and Other Dates of Destruction

The day of Judgement has passed. All that believed are either questioning why it didn’t happened or are accepting it and moving forward. Some will believe that it is a testament of their faith in a higher power while other will feel cheated by something that they pray for and want. For the unbelievers, the majority shrugged it off as a mad-mans crazed prediction that came to pass with no hint of calamity, just as he did years prior. Others made them think and brought them closer to thinking deeper then they have though in a long time. Others, brushed it off as nothing, and went along with life as yet another day on planet earth. And I bet there were others, those that may be hearing about the end of the world scenario for the first time, questioning the hype, the fears, the silliness as well as the seriousness of it all.
